Position Summary The Roller Shop Supervisor supervises Machine Operation of the shop employees in the Roller Shop department.
Supports manufacturing and safety objectives.
Responsibilities:
Leads the daily work of the Machine Operation team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, purchasing, and ensuring efficient workflowPerforms layouts and set-ups and does hands-on fabrication work as requiredReviews work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to production guidelines and quality and safety standardsProvides training to new and existing employeesAssists the Plant Manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensationRecommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modificationsLeads safety initiatives and improvementsGives the team written and oral instructionsStandardizes procedures to improve efficiencyEmployees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a steel fabrication environmentMinimum of 8 years of experience with steel fabricationKnowledge of steel fabrication procedures, operation, and set-up of all equipment, reading and interpreting blueprints, and creating jigs and fixturesKnowledge of Lean manufacturing and 5S principlesKnowledge of quality principlesComputer skillsSupervisory skillsAbility to deal with conflicts and employee issues in a professional mannerGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsTeam-oriented and collaborativeSelf-motivated and detail-orientedProblem-solving and analytical skillsLOTO certification required#LI-DNP About the Company:
